Dave has been doing user experience research since 1999. Recent highlights include:
- 2009: Gave a talk at UPA in New Zealand.
- 2008: User research for Nokia and eBay.
- 2007: Exploratree web software launched by Futurelab following lengthy user needs analysis.
- 2006: User research for Planning Portal.
- 2006: Gave a short presentation at the British Computer Society's Human Computer Interaction conference.
- 2005: Commercial content management system, deFacto, launched after extensive paper prototyping.
- 2005: End-to-end user-centred design of NHS Direct's interactive television service.
2. Experience... with different people and approaches
Dave has worked extensively with people of all ages, has clearance with the Criminal Records Bureau to work with children and has also worked abroad many times. Over

Dave has experience of designing interfaces for train drivers, airline pilot and hospital outpatients:
- 2002: Task analysis work on next-generation train interfaces.
- 2001: Studied HCI at Bath University with Peter and Hilary Johnson, designing a new cockpit safety system.
- 1999: Studied User Interface Design at Open University, working on a touch-screen application in a hospital.
- 1999: First UCD project - an online business community, now ten years old.
